Unable to manage her eating disorder at home, Suzette was brought into CHOC’s Eating Disorder inpatient center where she received the help and support she needed to overcome her health challenge.

Every year, Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals identify a “champion” in their local community to serve as the face for children treated at their local children’s hospital. These ambassadors spend their year advocating for the charitable need of children’s hospitals across the U.S. This year, CHOC is honored to recognize April Arellano as this year’s local CMN Champion.

Given Katrina’s diagnosis with Type I Diabetes, and her family’s philanthropic spirit, raising funds to find a cure was a natural way for the family to give back to CHOC.
