In this Q&A, we spoke with Graham as he reflected on what it means to be part of a team dedicated to making a difference. Here’s a closer look at his insights on the value of corporate partnerships, the impact of our annual CHOC Day at the Honda Center, and why partnerships like this one are a win for the community.
1. Why does CHOC’s mission of caring for sick and injured kids resonate with you?
Graham Siderius: As a father of two (Brennan, 12, and Cameron, 10), CHOC’s mission of caring for sick and injured children resonates deeply with me because every child deserves access to exceptional healthcare, regardless of their circumstances. Children are among the most vulnerable members of our community, and when they face illness or injury, they need specialized, compassionate care tailored to their individual needs. CHOC’s mission is to deliver exactly that here in our local community.
2. What inspired you to get involved with CHOC?
GS: Through the CHOC and Anaheim Ducks relationship, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit CHOC back in 2012. This coincided with the birth of our oldest son. Seeing firsthand the level of care CHOC provided to families in need was deeply impactful to me. Since 2012, I’ve continued to see and experience the impact CHOC has made throughout our community. It’s an honor to support CHOC and the key role they play in supporting the health and wellness of families.
3. What message would you like to share with potential donors about why they should support CHOC?
GS: To potential donors, I would say this: Your support is not just a donation; it’s an investment in a child’s future here in our local community. Every contribution helps CHOC provide lifesaving treatments and support families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. When you give to CHOC, you are giving children the chance to grow up and live full, healthy lives.
4. How does CHOC Day at the Honda Center serve as a collaborative partnership that positively impacts both CHOC and the Anaheim Ducks organization, and what key outcomes make it a productive collaboration?
GS: CHOC Day at the Honda Center is a powerful collaboration between CHOC and the Anaheim Ducks that unites the community around a shared mission—supporting children’s health and well-being. This partnership not only raises critical funds for CHOC but also increases awareness about the hospital’s life-changing work while engaging hockey fans and the broader Orange County community in a meaningful cause.
During CHOC Day, we have the opportunity to highlight patient success stories and showcase the impact of philanthropy on pediatric healthcare. The visibility and fundraising efforts help ensure that CHOC can continue to provide excellent medical care, new treatments, and support for kids and their families.
For the Anaheim Ducks, this partnership reinforces our commitment to the health and wellness of our local community. Our partnership with CHOC showcases our purpose beyond the game of hockey, inspiring fans to join us in support of CHOC.
Ultimately, CHOC Day at the Honda Center demonstrates how sports and healthcare can come together to make a lasting impact on young lives and to celebrate the health and wellness of our Orange County community.

Philanthropic support is at the core of CHOC’s ability to be there for patients with injuries, illness, or diagnoses that might overshadow childhood. But in partnership with a generous community and our CHOC Foundation Board of Directors, CHOC is with patients every step of the way, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Together, we are helping create a hope-filled picture of healing and joy for our children.
