Born with a rare heart defect, patient Ethan missed his kindergarten graduation, so the CHOC team brought the celebration to him. This is part of the CHOC Difference—making meaningful memories and acts of kindness, made possible from donors like you.
Thanks to the Children’s Hospital Play Grant program from The Toy Foundation and the Children’s Hospital Association, 600 patients received a coping kit when admitted to CHOC’s Cherese Mari Laulhere Mental Health Inpatient Center. With a journal, stuffed animal, model magic clay and other stress-reducing tools in these kits, our mental health patients can relieve their stress and enhance their overall feelings of well-being.
Fortunately, Max was in CHOC’s expert, caring hands, where we diagnosed him with acute lymphoblastic leukemia—along with providing him and his family with a comprehensive array of supportive services. This and everything we achieve for all our patients and families begins with our community’s support.
The Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center is helping Katherine reach her full potential. Now seven years old, she was one of the center’s first patients.
