2026 Children’s Champion Honoree

For over 30 years, Pacific Life and Pacific Life Foundation have partnered with Rady Children’s Health Orange County (formerly CHOC) to enrich and advance pediatric healthcare. Recognized as this year’s CHOC Gala Children’s Champion and serving as the event’s presenting sponsor, Pacific Life exemplifies the ideals of philanthropy and volunteerism.
A defining focus of this partnership has been mental health care. In 2018, Pacific Life’s investment helped establish Orange County’s first inpatient mental health center for children under 12. Building on this commitment, the organization made a generous $2 million gift in 2022 to support both inpatient and outpatient mental health and eating disorder initiatives.
Pacific Life has also supported a broad range of other initiatives, including an annual oncology camp, clinical nutrition, palliative care, rehabilitative care, and a capital gift toward the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center in Orange.
Pacific Life’s generous sponsorship of the 2026 CHOC Gala comes under the leadership of president and chief executive officer Darryl Button. “Rady Children’s Health Orange County plays a significant role in the health and well-being of our local youth. We are pleased to continue our support of their mission, and on behalf of all our employees, we are proud to accept this year’s CHOC Gala Children’s Champion award.”
With community deeply embedded in their values, Pacific Life has fostered a strong culture of giving and service, reflected in their ongoing global and local volunteer efforts. Rady Children’s and the CHOC Foundation have benefited from the leadership of Pacific Life’s retired chairman, president, and chief executive officer, Jim Morris, who has served on their boards, as well as current Pacific Life board member Christopher Furman, who serves on the hospital’s board.
Through sustained generosity, employee engagement, and a clear vision for strengthening the community, Pacific Life and the Pacific Life Foundation bring hope to children and families, building healthier futures for all.

Renowned for her powerful voice and hit songs, Christina Aguilera has sold close to 100 million records worldwide and has won seven Grammy Awards, including two Latin Grammy Awards. Having achieved five #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Aguilera became the third female artist, and fourth overall, to top the chart over three consecutive decades (1990s, 2000s, and 2010s).
Thank you to our incredible CHOC Gala Committee
Your unwavering dedication and passion help us shine a light on CHOC’s mission of nurturing, advancing, and protecting the health and well-being of children in our community. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and commitment!

“Dr. Andrew Shulman [rheumatology] is probably the best doctor my child has seen. He does not rush. He sits and talks to us. He listens. We are blessed to have him take care of our child.”

Grateful Family“From the staff in the emergency department, from admitting, all the way to the operating room—everybody was wonderful. All the nurses on the floor were very attentive and very, very helpful, making my child feel very at ease… I know the hospital is not always a very happy place to be, but everybody that we encountered in our stay made it such a great experience.”

Grateful Family“Our job is for the kids not to know they’re in therapy—to make it fun and enjoyable. We help them figure out how to cope, adjust, and thrive. We can’t change what happened to them, but we really influence how they work through their condition.”
