At only 15 months old, Hudson Kent was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Before the age of 3, he would undergo four surgeries and six months of chemotherapy.
Yet throughout his entire cancer journey, CHOC offered kind, patient, understanding and ever-present care to Hudson and his entire family. Through four successful surgeries, an oncology care team who administered six months of chemotherapy, radiologists who tracked the cancer cells in his body and even child life specialists giving him wagon rides down the hallway, every point of care CHOC provided was designed to help Hudson thrive during treatment.
Even at a young age, Hudson battled cancer with acceptance and positivity, willing to face scary or painful treatments with a calm bravery. That attitude gave his family strength, allowing them to keep moving forward together during difficult times.

And today, Hudson is 12 years cancer free! He loves to play sports—and cheer on his Anaheim Ducks and Seattle Seahawks. Since his care experience at CHOC, Hudson has brought awareness about childhood illnesses to his community, friends and schoolmates—continuing to give back by proudly participating in CHOC Walk In The Park each year.
